Burj Dubai is already well known in the whole world and becomes a frequent answers to questions in game shows whenever asked which is the tallest tower or building in the world.
For us who are living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, it represents a normal unfinished building being constructed in the heart of Buisness Bay. Yes, one may react its not actuaally exactly Business Bay, its Down Town Dubai but since I am always driving thru Dubai Al Ain Road where this creature is very much visible, I would rather describe its location that way.
Since the global economic crisis hits the world and Dubai, UAE is not exempted to that, people may perceive that this super dooper tall building is such a victim of the economic downturn. You might think that it will never be finished or its construction would just be put on hold as what happened to other Projects used to call "The first in the World" or record breaker.
But when it finally launched on January 4, 2010, fireworks were being watched by all and trying to have a glimpsed of one that may consider as history.
It might be 70% of Dubai's population has been washed out due to mass termination and continuous lay-offs but we cannot deny that Khalifa Tower's launching that day has shared a hope that Dubai will is surviving and still has good visions of its people and expatriates.
